meet julie

So, here I am.  The world of blogging was fairly foreign to me until I began planning my wedding and then again when I found out I was pregnant.  The wedding and the pregnancy pretty much happened on the same day.  How’s that for doing things “in order”!  No judgement, that’s just how it happened for my husband and I.  I went from not hanging around the blog world to loitering in it like a teenager outside 7/11.

I’m a mother and a wife, a sister and a daughter, a friend and a niece, a cousin and a neighbour, a university graduate (Geography & Sociology) and buddies with Jesus, a Canadian and a snowboarder.  My husband and 2 year old son keep me busy, happy and challenged all at the same time!  Now that’s life and that’s FUN!!  I’m an “I’ve been meaning to workout’er” and a coffee, tea and wine sipper.  You’ll find me at the local farmers market and tinkering in the kitchen with new recipes.  I’ve tried my hand at gardening and didn’t rock it like I had hoped to.  I’ll take up the gardening challenge again when I have a home with a yard, in the mean time I’ll grow a few yummies in pots on my condo patio.   I live in the city but feel my best when I’m in the mountains or at the lake with sand between my toes.  I have an enormous amount of love and respect for my family and friends.  I can’t help but have a happy heart when good things happen for others.  I prefer to acknowledge what I am for, rather than what I am against.  This way of thinking keeps my mind positive, joyful and focused.  I haven’t mastered this perspective and I am constantly reminded of that when I hear my own banter.  I try to keep the main thing, the main thing and aim for a focused, devoted and happy life where I slow down and enjoy the moments.  I’ve learnt that my moments are seconds that turn into minutes, turn into hours, turn into days, months and another year has passed and I forgot to breath and be in the moment.

Let Mom Protocol be a place where you can just hang or loiter:)  It’s a place to unwind, chuckle, reconnect, drift away, empty out or fill yourself up!  Mom Protocol was born for the fun of it!  I have a desire to be part of something more and at the moment this is one way I know how.

So, come as you are.  I hope you enjoy Mom Protocol.
